Description

Piping Designers in Otsego, MN are responsible for layout and design of piping systems, as well as flow diagram processing and documentation.

They create 3D models of plants and refineries.

Our client, an EPC contractor, provides engineering planning services for brownfield, maintenance, and expansion projects in the chemical, petrochemical, and refinery industries.

They plan maintenance, expansion, and modernization of facilities from concept phase to construction.

Responsibilities and Activities:

Independent project management;
Development of layout and piping concepts;
Layout, piping, and structural design in basic and detail engineering;
On-site support;
Site surveys;
As-built surveys and documentation;
3D laser scanning;
Assistance with equipment sizing and specification development;
Coordination of equipment layout and piping routing across disciplines;
Preparation of layout, piping, equipment, and support drawings, as well as isometrics;
Implementation of process concepts in piping design;
Technical clarification with clients, suppliers, and construction companies;
Interface between drafting team and engineering teams.

Job Requirements:

Several years of experience in industrial or plant design in the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry;
Proficiency in common 3D software such as E3D or SP3D;
Basic engineering and detailed design of piping systems and development of specifications;
Ability to work under pressure, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team;
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
