- Act as a key line of defense and point of contact on SOX issues in Basic Capital, proactively working with Engineering management and field employees
- Identify, document and correct apparent SOX issues within capital programs
- Where SOX rules are not definitive, take the conservative course while evaluating the appropriateness of escalation through finance or accounting
- Provide guidance and training to Engineering
- Liaison to the Engineering AVP or Chief on SOX failures and correction steps
- Answer to internal and external audit on their findings
- Engineering, finance or audit experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Diploma (GED)
- Applies analytical thinking to make recommendations that pursue sustainable performance
- Tracks metrics to achieve ambitious targets and holds self accountable to meet performance expectations
- Knows the business and stays current with industry trends to elevate expertise and work
- Promotes ideas while evaluating impacts

Reporting to the Senior Financial Partner of Engineering Basic Capital, the Assistant Project Officer (APO) is responsible for ensuring basic capital programs meet Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) control guidelines.
Auditing
The role requires minimal travel (10%) and occasional work outside of working hours. The dress code is business casual.
