We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Logistics department for a Supply Chain Specialist at our Devens, MA location.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all material purchases & inventory to meet business objectives
- Ensure support inventories (janitorial, cleaning) as assigned are maintained
- Develop & maintain supplier relationships
- Comply with SOP 741, 742, 743, 75
- Ensure material is available to meet production target dates
- Communicate standard lead time & delivery information to planning to avoid expedited shipments to meet customer requirements
- Negotiate pricing & stocking agreements
- Pricing agreements designed to achieve most favorable pricing
- Stocking agreements design to include supplier stock holds to support 1 day delivery
- Maintain company ERP system to reflect supplier market changes and supplier information
- Approval and evaluation status, initial & monthly
- Supplier address, terms or contact information in coordination with corporate database support
- Price and tier changes
- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) as required & maintain PO delivery information
- Manage interplant logistics, material & process flow
- Manage inventories to inventory turn targets
- Actively manage and disposition aging or obsolete materials
- Negotiate for sale regrind or other obsolete materials
- Maintain Customer Supplied materials & Outsourced materials
- Participate in Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process
- Insure compliance with print specifications
- Insure materials planned for obsolescence are communicated to CSV & management as needed
- Promptly communicate with suppliers regarding quality & delivery issues, follow up until resolved
- Research potential suppliers as needed, evaluating supplier, price, terms & shipping
- Support engineering on initial and alternative sourcing; i.e. colors, compounds and offsets
- Develop & maintain warehouse management understanding to assist in the absence of the warehouse supervisor
- Support capital projects as required
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Business degree preferred.
- Able to read prints
- Proficient with spreadsheets (MS Excel)
- MRP/ERP Familiarity
- Ability to offer solutions to problem resolution
- Must be extremely dependable and efficient, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong team player and selfmotivated
- Computer proficiency, extreme attention to detail
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
- Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
