Presently, we are seeking an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for assisting the Controller with the overall administration of accounting activities for the diocese and departments and offices.
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Prepares daily, weekly and monthly journal entries; Prepares and analyzes bank reconciliations for diocesan bank accounts; Prepares and analyzes balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Performs Treasury operations such as wire transfers, manage Positive Pay Exceptions and initiate ACH transactions as needed.
- Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
- Maintains regular and detailed interaction with A/P, A/R, Payroll and Data Processing for analytical and process support.
- Provide support to A/R, Payroll and Data Processing by taking on their responsibilities during their absence.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Performs other duties as required.
Additional qualifications include the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 5 years or more related experience
