Quality Control Specialist
Supports the administration and continuous improvement processes through document management and administration, assessment reviews and audits. Will also assist in directing, monitoring, and maintaining quality initiatives through policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions.


Duties:


  • Performs all QA Inspections of outgoing product/material and verifies the customer requirements, processes and work instructions and applicable standards are met.
  • Record product inspection results and ensure inspection documents are accurately completed.
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Provide quality support and guidance on all calibrated equipment, capability studies, process control plans, etc.
  • Inspect material / product for defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Inform senior team members when nonconforming items or jobs are detected.
  • Participate in the disposition process as necessary.
  • Ensure nonconforming parts, product, or material, is moved to MRB area.
  • Observe and monitor production operations to ensure inprocess inspection is performed.
  • Plan and organize your own workload to ensure that delegated responsibilities are completed in accordance with specifications and drawings.
  • Developing site quality documentation and supporting certifications
  • Ensure and approve inprocess production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual inspection, measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor.
  • Develop detailed project/work plan templates, flow charts and track progress.
  • Understands the Company's Quality Policy and objectives and contribute to their success.
  • Ensure all inspection measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated before each use.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possess excellent motivation to meet/exceed customer requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, specification, and procedure manuals.
  • Requires a proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, word, outlook)
  • Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
  • Ability to operate to operate basic machinery.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
  • Work with mínimal supervision.
  • Detail oriented with ability to produce error free work.
  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Technical Degree is a Plus
  • 3 years of experience in QA/QC specialist/inspection position in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3 years minimum experience in ISO 9001 QMS Environment.
  • Physical requirements to include lifting up to 50 Pounds.
  • Knowledge in the use of standard mechanical instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, etc. is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASTM standards is a plus.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 required. Required to test and pass an annual vision examination.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.

Physical Requirements:


  • May be required to bend, squat, kneel, or stand for long periods;
  • May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
