Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience planning, coordinating, and implementing projects and/or organizational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. One year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level.

J.D. or master's degree may substitute for one year of the professional experience. Doctoral degree may substitute for two years of the professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating, and implementing multifaceted projects and initiatives impacting diverse groups of stakeholders; demonstrated experience with distilling and communicating complex information to audiences in plain language, utilizing verbal and written formats; demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound decision making abilities consistent with program guidelines; demonstrated experience with analyzing and evaluation information presented in a variety of formats; strong writing skills and experience with producing polished written products in multiple formats; demonstrated experience with effective oversight of cross-functional project teams.


Duties Description
Reporting to Department of Health executive staff, the Project Coordinator will lead strategic initiatives across the agency.

The position will oversee implementation of Executive Office priorities and associated process steps, develop and implement general project planning frameworks for use at an agency-wide level, assess department resources to develop and implement documentation and tracking systems for associated initiatives, and organize and maintain an agency-wide repository for planning and ongoing initiatives.


The position will also develop and implement written documentation for programs to accomplish strategic priorities and ensure consistency across the Department; coordinate efforts with stakeholders inside of program areas to standardize objectives and document needs; develop communication plans for distribution to agency staff; lead workgroups to identify, document, and streamline project timelines; and supervise three Project Assistants that function as the primary strategic initiative liaisons between the Commissioner's Office and designated program areas.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
