    Job Description RN Regional Resource Pool: Flexible Work Schedule, Self-Scheduling, Premium Pay, and Resource Pool Differential
    Minimum Requirements:

    Valid RN license

    Most recent experience consists of 18 months in Stepdown/Intermediate Care

    Available to work Nights PRN status, a minimum of 48 hours per month

    Within 75 miles and 90 minutes of all four hospitals on the Southside of Hampton Roads: Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Princess Anne, Sentara Virginia Beach General

    Nursing Resource Pool at Sentara Leigh Hospital (Norfolk, VA)

    Four Southside Hampton Roads Hospitals include two in Norfolk (Norfolk General & Sentara Leigh) and two in Virginia Beach (Virginia Beach General & Princess Anne Hospital).

    Positions open in the IMC/Stepdown Resource Pool.

    Sentara Hospital Support Services is hiring a Registered Nurse to work in our IMC/StepdownResource Pool covering four hospitals in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

    Offers Premium Differential Pay, Flexible Self Scheduling: (work up to Full-time hours if desired). Only required to provide the availability to work no more than two weeks in advance.

    Requires a minimum of 48 scheduled hours per pay month. Requires 4, 12-hour night shifts, one of which must be a 12-hour weekend night shift per month. Requires minimum RN experience of 18 months. Requires nurses to work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units.

    The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
    • Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)
    • Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
    • RN-Diploma (Non-degree)
    • RN-Bachelor's Level Degree
    • RN-Associate's Degree
