Description
Working as a senior-level building maintenance and construction professional involves a diverse range of tasks such as building repair, renovation, restoration, and alteration. You'll be working on various building elements like room finishes, walls, doors, utility systems, and more, either installing them or repairing them due to wear and tear. This role may also include overseeing the work of your colleagues. You will have some independence in decision-making, with room for creativity and initiative.
The job might require you to work in both the agency's headquarters complex and remote facilities.
Education – High School Diploma/equivalent.
Experience – Minimum of two years' experience in building trades work on commercial or residential projects, with competency in at least one skill area (carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.).
Substitution Note: Technical school training in a relevant construction trade may substitute for work experience.
Licensure and/or Certification – Valid driver license required if driving is necessary. Pesticide applicator license may be needed.
Regulatory Knowledge – Understanding of building maintenance/construction and relevant building codes.
Maintenance Knowledge – Proficiency in using tools and materials for maintenance tasks.
Interpersonal Skills – Ability to maintain positive relationships with customers.
Organizational and Prioritization Skills – Effective prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
Presentation/Communication Skills – Clear and professional communication abilities.
Technology – Proficiency in software applications and the ability to learn new systems.
Confidentiality and Protected Information – Handling sensitive information.
Safety – Adherence to safety standards.
Travel and/or Schedule – Flexibility in work hours and willingness to travel as needed.
