Job Posting Description

  • Boston Children's Hospital's EHR system will be consolidated from two systems (Cerner and Epic) into a single one by Epic. Using Epic's EHR software, the hospital will embrace an enhanced model of care centered on readily available health information. This 18month implementation of a new, unified EHR platform is an enterprise initiative for the hospital that will further strengthen the care we provide to patients and families.

This IT Epic Trainer will be responsible for:

  • Participates in analyzing tickets, feedback and requests to identify need for modification in curriculum and delivery of training.
  • Performs advanced configuration or customization, as necessary, to address training needs. Maintains training environments. Records decisions and applicable business rules and prepares or may assist in preparing user documentation.
  • Develops or provides substantive input to training curriculum for online learning or in person instruction. Regularly obtains feedback from superusers and their managers. May provide specialty training to user groups.
  • May present at national forums (i.e., Epic XGM
  • Expert Group Meeting, Epic UGM Support
  • User Group Meeting). Attends Epic related conferences.

In order to qualify, you must have:

  • High School Diploma / GED required, Bachelor's preferred
  • Epic certification in the following module areas preferred:


  • EpicCare

  • Inpatient Clinical Documentation
