Description

The Endoscopy technician will work with the registered nurse and is responsible for maintaining a safe intervention for the patient by practicing proper aseptic technique and using a good working knowledge of the procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs in performing the procedure.


Must be willing to travel to ALL locations; Columbia, Annapolis, Olney, Riverdale.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists the physician with endoscopic procedures
  • Assists with ensuring the center is properly prepared for the daily schedule
  • Sterilization of equipment and highlevel disinfection
  • Cleaning the surgical suite between cases
  • Opening of sterile packs, instruments, and supplies. Ensuring a sterile environment is maintained throughout the procedure.
  • Preparing for the setup of all procedure cases.
  • Ensuring surgeon identifies and describes surgical specimen prior to its placement in the specimen jar.
  • Reporting and troubleshooting of all broken or defective supplies or equipment.
  • Checking and restocking the center.
  • Operates and maintain documentation for Medivator: labels activated Rapicide PA solutions and daily checks solution with test strip and record results for effectiveness of solution.
  • Assesses the condition of all equipment, instruments, and accessories on a daily basis and reports any irregularities to the Nurse Manager.
  • Coordinates rooms and scopes according to daily schedule.
  • Properly disposes of contaminated waste following Standard Precautions and OSHA regulations.
  • Takes an active role for identifying issues for quality improvement.
MUST have BLS certification.


Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour

Experience:


  • Sterile processing: 2 years (required)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
