JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The human resource assistant is responsible for coordinating HR-related tasks on a daily basis and works closely with the HR Manager.
benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, recruitment/employment and other HR administrative duties as needed.
Essential Functions

- Answers phone calls directed to the HR department
- Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
- Assists with newemployee orientations
- Assists in maintaining confidential personnel files and personnel actions
- Prepares job postings
- Assists the manager with HR projects
- Assists with benefits administration
- Answers and screens multiline phone system in cooperation with other team members to cover the phones during meal and rest breaks of the front desk
- Assist with English to Spanish Translation, verbal and written
Main Job Requirements and Duties
New Hire Processing:
- I9 documentation and filing
- Drug Screens processing and followup (notify hiring managers of results)
- Live Scan processing for ALI employees when needed
- Provide Spanish translation (verbal or written) to newhires or for employee issue resolution
Worker's Comp & Accidents:
- Mailing out DWC1 and MPN Packet
Process File Requests:
- Locate files being requested, photocopy or scan documents
Manage Traffic Infractions/Violations:
- Process check requests for approval and payment through accounting
- Assist in the analyzing of GPS reports and assists in the tracking of documentation of violations of the company's driving policies and procedure
Benefits Enrollment management:
- Track eligible employees for both AHL and ALI
- Provide information packets to eligible employees for Medical and Dental Insurance
Manage Open Positions for AHL & ALI:
- Create Job Postings and place on various hiring job boards
- Answer walkin and phone questions regarding open positions
- Setting up Interviews, manage preemployment testing
Office Management Duties:
- Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs
- Assists at the front desk for meal, rest breaks and vacation coverage
- Attends monthly department meetings and records meeting minutes for distribution

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
Occasional local travel may be requested.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required, plus two years of office/administrative support experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Previous HR experience or HR Certification/Education.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Fluent in Spanish & English, Ability to multi-task & handle competing priorities, Proficiency in computer skills such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
