    Job Description


    The Director, Operational Excellence and Ops Integration will have responsibility for driving operational excellence through deploying our Aero Operating Model (AOM), and effectively staffing, training, and engaging our hourly Aero Operations workforce.

    This leadership role will oversee and lead process improvements that meet business needs, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in leading strategic initiatives and contribute to the overall performance of the business.

    This role is expected to lead and manage change, partner with Leaders across Aero Operations to assist in developing and executing strategic and continuous improvement roadmaps.


    Responsibilities:
    Operational Excellence


    • Partners with Line of Business (LOB) and Function Leaders on Strategy Deployment initiatives.
    • Drives operational excellence across Aero Operations through deploying our AOM.
    • Partner with leaders to develop our Performance Management Teams (PMT's) and Integrated Product Teams (IPT's) in developing a problem solving and continuous improvement culture.
    • Partner with leaders on deploying tiered accountability, supported by an effective operating rhythm that delivers predictable results.
    • Coach and mentor leaders and employees across Operations on AOM and continuous improvement.
    • Partner with leaders to document and mitigate risks/challenges/opportunities across Operations.
    • Engage in Program/Site transformation plans to enable "Start Green, Stay Green" performance.
    Ops / Workforce Integration


    • Manages the operational aspects of staffing, workforce planning and training for the Aero Operations organization.

    Staffing Management:
    Lead Vemo planning and inputs for Operations Staffing POCs. Provides guidance on Vemo updates, implementation, and inputs. Ensures alignment of staffing plans to financial commitments. Manages demand for Prod Ops touch labor requirements and coordinates with Talent Acquisition to hire to fulfill demand. Coordinates job requisition approvals for executive leadership.

    Operational Execution:
    Provides CBA guidance relative to Operations. Assesses impacts of operational changes and provide analysis to leadership for effective decision making. Executing promotion & shift changes in alignment with CBA. Manages and coordinates new hire assimilation through orientation and training. Mgmt of transitional duty program (FTW).

    Training & Development:
    Leads the training team that conducts technical training for field and factory operations.


    • Coordinating and managing our OLDP and College Intern process across Aero Operations.
    • Manages business planning efforts of an organization's activities, determines requirements and translates these requirements into organizational plans.

    Basic Qualifications


    • Leadership experience with demonstrated results through delivering significant operational performance improvement
    • Experience driving operational excellence
    • Bachelors Degree

    Desired skills


    • 10+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated results through delivering significant operational performance improvement
    • Previous experience leading Hoshin Kanri/Strategy Deployment across large organizations.
    • 5+ years experience leading/facilitation Kaizen events
    • Master's Degree in Business or Engineering

    Work Schedule Information

    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


    Colorado Pay Statement

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $180,000 - $300,000 .

    Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

    Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
    (Washington state applicants only)

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.


    Premium Pay Statement
