As part of our expansion, we are opening a new warehouse and are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Receive, store, and distribute materials and products within the warehouse. Ensure all materials are handled safely and accurately according to company procedures.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting regular counts and updates. Report any discrepancies or shortages to the warehouse manager.
Order Fulfillment:
Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule. This includes picking, packing, and loading materials onto trucks or other transport vehicles.
Quality Control:
Inspect materials for any defects or damage upon receipt and before dispatch. Ensure that all materials meet the quality standards set by GIDA HOMES.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other warehouse staff, project managers, and construction teams to ensure timely and efficient material handling. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and resolve any issues.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift certification is a plus)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
