Soft Stuff Distributors provides Specialty Food Solutions to the Hospitality Industry. Soft Stuff started 30 years ago in the sunroom of our founders' home, selling cheesecakes to local businesses.

Three decades later, we distribute delicious products from all over the world (desserts, hors-d'oeuvres, breads, soups, etc.) to thousands of food service customers in all facets of the Hospitality Industry throughout the Mid-Atlantic from our distribution center in Jessup, MD.

What You'll Do
We are looking for a warehouse associate to help us process incoming freight in our freezer.

As a member of day shift, you will:

• Unload, break down, and verify incoming freight, while ensuring proper temperature control of our products.
• Stock incoming freight in the freezer, making sure everything is placed on the correct racks and shelves and stock is rotated.
• Cycle count inventory at regular intervals.
• Assist our drivers with loading products onto route trucks.
• Accurately pull and assemble orders using pick lists, both for our B2B customers (to be delivered by our drivers) and our directtoconsumer Ecommerce operations (for shipping out by UPS).
• Collaborate with office members and other outside personnel in order to complete daily activities.

What You Have
Required Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• Reliable transportation
• Pass preemployment testing (drug screen, background check)
• Experience working in freezers
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, order picker, and box cutter

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Spend extended periods of time in a cold storage environment, from Cooler (40 degrees) to Freezer (25 degrees).
• Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 175 pounds, up to 100 pounds.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and carts.
• Stand for extended periods of time; frequently bend, twist, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk.
• Must be able to climb on and off ladders, the box of the truck, and power equipment.
• At times, transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to talk and hear, both in person and on the phone.
• Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Hours
This shift is from 6:30 am-3:30 pm with an hour lunch and 2-15 minute breaks.
