Come join our dynamic In-Home Therapy program as a Part time or full-time Therapeutic Mentor/ Therapeutic Training and Support, and work in a team with a Master level clinician serving at risk youth less than 21 years old and their families.
The therapeutic mentor provides a variety of community-based services, including CBHI services, to children, adolescents and their families.These services include Skill coaching, Job Coaching, Life Skills training, activity planning, community exploration & integration, behavior management, assessment, treatment panning services, crisis management and case management services.
Therapeutic Mentors are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with outside agencies, families, and other involved parties.The Mentor serves as an integral member of a client's treatment team and is responsible for all documentation as required by policy and procedure.
Schedule is flexible depending on your availability and that of the client/family.We are seeking a Full Time Therapeutic Mentor to provide home-based services to families whose children are presenting with difficult and challenging behaviors, at home, in school and/or in the community.
Requirements:
The therapeutic mentor/ TT&S is able to support the clinical care of youth and their families in a home and community based setting.
The TM/TTS provides an active role in supporting youth to become their best selves within the structure of their home communities.
This position is an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team to find the best most effective methods of guiding and supporting youth within the community.
- Educational requirements_: Bachelor's degree in a human service field from an accredited university with one (1) year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families.
- Experience:_
- Community mental health program experience preferred; experience working with specialized populations preferred.
- Must be over 21 years old.
- Knowledge of the needs of a Diverse Community such as New Bedford
- Must also have an acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), national background check, and appropriate driving record.
- Maintains valid driver's license. Daily access to a working, registered, insured vehicle. Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as necessary.
- Experience working with youth and families
- A valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Daily access to a working, registered and insured vehicle (in your name)
- Excellent in both written and verbal communications.
- Ability to independently plan and organize one's own schedule and activities.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems and an understanding of the internet
- Strong time management skills and organization skills.
- Bilingual encouraged
