The position will be responsible for shipping/ receiving of all incoming items. The position will operate various hand tools, fork lifts (sit down, stand up, walk behind) and will do minor computer work. Will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks. Lastly, this position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) policies and procedures in the area and maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Work Instructions. Complete necessary forms to receive all items. Respond appropriately to variations.
  • Ability to construct wooden boxes for materials being shipped, assemble cardboard cartons, pack various shipments. Operate pallet jacks, motorized lifts, metal and plastic strapping devices and stretch wrap machines occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced manner in a team environment and move to where the work is required. Train coworkers on job tasks as required.
  • Perform housekeeping as required.
  • Participate in safety efforts (VPP, JHA's, etc) and CIP teams.

Education/Experience

  • 2 years of previous experience in Shipping and Receiving.
  • Proficiency in basic computer navigation and basic knowledge of PC based programs.
  • Forklift experience preferred (we will train if necessary)
  • HAZMAT experience preferred.

Pay:
$20.68 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
