Must be a graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school with an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
Must have successful completion of accredited Residency program.
Community or ambulatory health experience is preferredMust be NYS Licensed Physician MD or DO and in good standing with all regulatory agenciesMust be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in good standing with their Board Certified Academy with 2+ years of experienceMust have a valid DEA number to prescribe medicationsMust comply with the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Academy of HIV Medicine requirements to maintain certificationMust have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills requiredMust be assertive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust have computer proficiency with efficiency in using electronic health records systemsMust have demonstrated the ability to motivate, supervise, train, and work respectfully and effectively with a culturally diverse clinic staffMust have the commitment to provide quality healthcare services to a diverse community of patients.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with patientsMust have knowledge of and experience with HER and other office technologyMust have analytical skills in determining the best treatment plans and decision-making when presented with patient complaintsBilingual (Spanish or Chinese) is highly preferredBenefits of the HIV Internist/Family Medicine Physician :The salary for this position is $220,000 - $230,000 / yrBenefits are competitive and negotiableSchedule of the HIV Internist/Family Medicine Physician :This is a Full-time positionFlexible beyond a 40-hour workweekMay include working on Saturday hours of operationPosition requires travel to the company's network of facilities as neededResponsibilities of the HIV Internist/Family Medicine Physician :Provide direct patient care to patients.
Diagnose and treat acute illness, as well as chronic diseases and conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, or diabetesMaintenance of a clinic panel of people living with HIV and other patients appropriate to ongoing infectious disease oversightPrescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injuryExplain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
Monitor patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments as necessaryProvide health and wellness advice; order age-appropriate screenings, immunize patients against preventable diseasesAdhere to documentation and quality standards set by New York State and any other standards implemented by the Chief Medical OfficerRefer patients to other medical specialists, when necessaryMaintain an ongoing relationship with the backup hospital and its professionals.
Ultimately, have admitting privileges at that institutionTimely completion of accurate and detailed notes, patient care forms, and lettersMust adhere to BHC policies and procedures.
Must participate and complete quarterly peer reviews in a timely fashionMust attend monthly Provider MeetingsSpecial Projects to be determined by the Chief Medical OfficerOther tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
