Food Runners I Bussers


The Food Runner / Busser is a liaison between the kitchen and the wait staff to help properly prepare and deliver food and beverage products.

Responsibilities also include cleaning and preparing table service for the next guest.


This position will also work closely with the kitchen team to be sure that all orders are complete and beautifully presented when going to the customers.

All other responsibilities will be directed by the business or as assigned by management.

This is a tipped salary position, plus basic $6.00 per hour pay - non-exempt and typically reports to the General and Assistant Manager and Executive Chef depending up requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Ensures all orders leaving the kitchen meet presentation standards and guest requests
  • Knows the menu items served and is able to knowledgeably explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item.
  • Must have complete knowledge of floor plan, table numbers, and seat numbers
  • Knowledgeable of fine dining service and food delivery practice standards
  • Ability to learn and understand procedures for food expedition; to be backup as needed
  • Knowledge of general kitchen procedures and ability to work well with both front and back of house team
  • Maintains neat and clean work station during service, and ability to properly polish silverware and glasses and fold dinner napkins daily.
  • Perform other duties in a team effort during downtime
Ideal Applicants

  • Must be at least 1
  • Requires at least 1 year of closely related work experience in fine dining restaurant environment preferred.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
Customer service experience required in a fast paced upscale environment

Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner

Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Maintain a professional business appearance attitude, and performance


Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in a fine dining setting.

Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions

Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemicals.
