As the Chief Communications Officer, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Consistently uphold and promote the organization's core values, serving as a role model for ethical behavior and cultural alignment.
• Ensure compliance with ethical standards, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all communication and development activities.
• Serve as a valued leadership team member, actively contributing to organizational health, strategic decision-making, and continuous improvement.
• Promote positive workplace culture, teamwork, and collaborative decision-making among staff.
• Lead, manage, and hold the communications team accountable.
• Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence, encouraging staff to contribute ideas, experiment with new approaches, and continuously learn and grow.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed student enrollment goals and increase retention rates.
• Lead the development and execution of integrated communication and brand strategies.
• Develop, implement, and oversee an effective internal and external communications strategy, ensuring consistent and clear messaging across various platforms.
• Monitor and respond to public perception, proactively addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.
• Oversee all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.
• Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, secure positive coverage, and manage crisis communications by responding effectively to mitigate potential risks.
• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote Choice Schools and its academies.
• Lead new business growth opportunities, markets, and partnerships from inception to onboarding.
• Develop and implement strategies to engage with and influence government officials, policymakers, regulatory bodies, and advocacy groups at the local, authorizer, state, and federal levels.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations, institutions, and stakeholders to enhance the company's brand and expand our impact.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven leadership experience (7+ years) in strategic communication, public relations, fundraising, and development roles, preferably in the education or nonprofit sector.
• Unyielding commitment to Choice Schools' mission of ensuring all children can read at or above grade level.
• Exceptional leadership abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience managing organization strategy and systems at medium/growing organizations, nonprofits, and charter schools.
