Position responsibilities include:
- Assist the health services administrator in recruiting, orienting, supervising and evaluating the performance of all healthcare staff. Complete a yearly written evaluation on all directly supervised staff and a sixmonth evaluation on new employees.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
- Maintain accountability of staff, inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
Education and experience requirements:
- Completion of an accredited registered nursing program is necessary.
- Must be a licensed registered nurse in the state of Texas or a compact state.
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience with one (1) year supervisory experience is required.
- Must possess current CPR certification.
- A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
