Description
Position Summary: This job involves providing behavioral health clinical services in various settings, such as hospitals, emergency departments, primary care facilities, and ambulatory behavioral health offices.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling is a minimum requirement.
Certification/Licenses: The candidate must be licensed to practice independently in the State of New Mexico as a LCSW or LPCC. Additionally, completion of a prevention and management of aggressive behavior course within 2 months and BLS certification within 6 months is needed.
Skills:
Experience: A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a behavioral health or related setting is required.
Nature of Supervision:
Responsible to: Director or designee, BHS
Environment:
- Bloodborne Pathogens
The role involves multiple simultaneous activities related to patient care with exposure to infectious diseases. There may be occasional exposure to substances like blood, excrements with associated odors, and noise. Work environment typically has normal heat, light, and air conditions.
Physical Requirements: Candidates must have emotional and physical resilience to handle the stress and physical demands of working with behavioral health patients. Emergency lifting and physical interventions may be necessary. The job may involve prolonged standing/walking, and readiness to handle crisis situations. Good body mechanics are essential. Manual dexterity, fine motor coordination, and adequate hearing and visual acuity are required. There is a possibility of being on-call and expected to report on short notice for emergency situations.
