    Job Description
    We are looking for a talented DocuWare Developer with solid Java skills to join our team for a project. The main focus of this role is to handle the migration of an older application from DocuWare 5.1 to DocuWare 6.12 or a newer version. This position requires a deep understanding of document management systems, especially DocuWare, and strong Java programming capabilities. The perfect candidate will analyze the current application structure, identify potential issues, and effectively implement upgrades to improve system performance and features.
     
    Job Responsibilities
    • Evaluate the Current System: Review the existing DocuWare 5.1 application to devise the best migration strategy to DocuWare 6.12.
    • Develop and Execute Upgrade Plans: Create and implement a detailed migration plan with minimal disruption to current processes.
    • Address Compatibility Challenges: Resolve compatibility issues between the old and new versions, including adjustments in custom scripts and integrations.
    • Conduct Thorough Testing: Perform extensive testing, including regression, performance, and security tests, to ensure the upgraded system works as intended.
    • Create Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation throughout the upgrade process for future reference and compliance.
    • Offer Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide continuous support and troubleshooting during and post-implementation.
     Required Skills
    • Proficiency in Java: Strong Java programming skills, especially in a document management setting.
    • Expertise in DocuWare: Extensive knowledge of DocuWare, particularly versions 5.1 and 6.12, including familiarity with its API and customization features.
    • Great Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to anticipate and manage potential issues during upgrades.
    • Project Management Skills: Capability to effectively manage projects, meet deadlines, and update stakeholders on progress.
     Beneficial Skills (Not Required)
    • Familiarity with Other Document Management Systems: Knowledge of platforms like SharePoint, FileNet, or OpenText can be advantageous.
    • Database Skills: Understanding of SQL and experience with database management and migrations.
    • Certifications: Although not mandatory, certifications in Java and/or DocuWare would showcase expertise.
    • Strong Communication Skills: Besides technical prowess, good communication skills will enhance teamwork and stakeholder collaboration.
