Summary:


  • Track a variety of complex budgets including State Grants. Assist the Laboratory Manager with personnel management and administrative tasks; authorize and track all division requisitions and expenditures from County and State funds; supervise revenue collection and generate reports; participate in customer service and customer relations activities; and supervise support staff. Generate and maintain statistical, expenditure and activity reports for the management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assembles and compiles data for reports from a variety of sources as needed.
  • Coordinates revenue collection and accounting including cash collection, invoicing, statements, and Medicaid collection.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the support staff.
  • Purchases, receives and monitors supply inventory and budgets.
  • Assists with the formulation, monitoring and reporting on the annual operating budget.
  • Organizes and maintains files, records, and database as needed.
  • Assists lab management with quality assurance random audits to meet all regulatory and county policies for both the lab support and administrative areas of the laboratory and ensures implementation of Quality Improvement measures as needed.
  • Processes and completes forms following procedures.
  • Responds to questions and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Serves as a resource for the lab billing system, information system, and website.
  • Prepares personnel action forms and maintains confidential personnel files.
  • Coordinates division administrative records management.
  • Assists laboratory management with the maintenance and organization of regulatory manuals and records.
  • Responds to Public Health Emergencies and other Public Health Threats.
  • Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements:


  • TO APPLY, must have a
    Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.

AND

  • TO APPLY, must have
    Two (2) fulltime years of experience in business administration.
Experience using computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, accounting, or database software is required.


If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.


Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment.

A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull.
