Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides community programming via arts, health, youth, and events to strengthen and support the LGBTQ+ community in the greater Lehigh Valley.

Our Center has become a regional and statewide leader in LGBTQ+ health promotion, and received recognition for our life-enriching LGBTQ+ community programs.

Position Description:

This full time position reports to the SR.

Manager of Communications and Marketing and is responsible for coordinating and creating internal and external communications (print, website, and social media) for the purpose of program outreach, community relations, and promotional materials.

They provide support in areas such as marketing, advertising, and media relations through press interactions, press releases, social media and events.

They will expand on the Center's brand story through social media. They will create original text and video content, managing posts and responding to followers and monitoring comments for appropriateness.

They will be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends and should have excellent communication skills and be able to express the Center's views creatively.

It will be important that the position holds an understanding of the Center's population served, and needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote the Center and programs within the community and online to improve program outreach and awareness.
  • Manage and grow the Center's social media platforms, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MeetUp, and YouTube.
  • Create and maintain a positive public image for the Center and our LGBTQ+ siblings
  • Craft media releases and develop social media programs to shape public perception of the Center and increase awareness of the Center's programs, services and events.
  • Create engaging text, image and video content and insure that branding and voice is consistent throughout all social media platforms
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic (analytics) and customer engagement metrics throughout social media platforms, manage comments and direct messages, and include image descriptions on all photographs.
  • Oversee social media accounts' layout
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions
  • Create & Publish external Newsletter
  • Serve as the primary contact for all media inquiries, develop and maintain relationships with media, prepare and send press releases, maintain and update press list, collect and share press clips, pitch stories to media outlets for coverage of programming.
  • Under supervision, manage the Center's integrated media strategy inclusive of television, print, radio, podcasts, and social media to broaden our reach.
  • Produce effective written communications and program materials.
  • Primary Administrator for Center domains through Namecheap account
  • Attend staff meetings, events and training as required by the Center.
  • Plans communication strategies
  • Conducts research on other LGBTQ+ Centers and Organizations
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics

Qualifications and Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field preferred; however, commensurate years of experience may exempt degree.
  • Proven working experience in digital marketing, particularly within nonprofits.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM and social media advertising campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Experience with social media, print communications, fundraising, general development and events.
  • Basic video editing and photography skills, with the ability to create social media content.
  • Outstanding written, communication, and editing skills.
  • Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police, and FBI criminal background checks are required for this position.
  • Position requires use of agency vehicle
  • Personal vehicle or access to independent transportation required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proof of motor vehicle insurance (for use of personal vehicle)

Preferences

  • Spanish Language spoken and written proficiency
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Working knowledge of Adobe CC, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency with project management systems, e.g. ASANA

Benefits/Compensation
