    The Front Desk is responsible for maximizing daily patient and clinical services by greeting, registering, and checking out patients in a friendly and efficient manner. They also direct vendors and visitors as needed to proper contacts.

    Essential Functions:

    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    1. Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
    2. Accurately and expeditiously review registration and update patients' demographic information
    3. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and document appropriately
    4. Ability to triage patients and appropriately schedule them
    5. Notify patients of and collect on copays and past due balances
    6. Check out procedures including scheduling future appointments and outside testing
    7. Knowledge of EMRs and ability to accurately import information into the appropriate EMR system.
    8. Knowledge of cancellation procedures as it pertains to booking slips and reschedules.
    9. Verify procedure codes and diagnosis codes on orders are matching and alerting the appropriate individuals to rectify any inconsistencies.
    10. Remain accountable and follow through on all commitments made to patients.
    11. Other duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This role requires frequent walking, standing, and sitting and also bending, stretching and periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position. Shifts will be assigned in advance and can vary between the hours of 5:30am to 5:30pm.

    Travel

    No overnight travel is expected for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. High School Graduate or equivalent
    2. Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
    3. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Discretion to work with confidential information
    2. Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations
    3. Pertinent job-related experience and Medical Terminology
    4. Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus
