Job Summary:
As a Shop Helper, you will work closely with our experienced technicians and assist in various tasks related to the fabrication and finish of metal products.
This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Shop Helper is responsible for final surface preparation of metal products prior to powder coat or plating, including grinding, sanding, graining, and cleaning.
Capable of physically performing all manual tasks associated with the manufacture of custom and standard metal shop products manufactured within the shop, and must be able to lift 50lbs.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow directives
- Willingness to learn about the operation of manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) shop equipment including all hand tools, punches, shears, brakes, milling, sanding, and grinding equipment and laser marking machinery
- Willingness to learn about the assembly and finish processes of RCI products, including manufacture of stock, parts installation, cleaning, engrave backfill, QC, shipping prep
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Good math skills
- Ability to focus on specific tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
Responsibilities
Operation of basic shop tools and machinery including:
a) Hand tools (Cutters, measuring tools, hammer, plers, snips etc)
b) Hand punch
c) Pneumatic Grinders
d) Sanders/Grainers
e) Miscellaneous shop machinery
- Inventory Control of Stock Plates and Panels
b) Finish edges and surfaces of punched and laser cut items
c) Clean and prep parts for outside services
d) Communicate with Purchasing for delivery and pickup of parts - restock
Quality Control - responsible for inspecting finished product to:
a) Ensure quality of material, following RCI ISO QMS
b) Ensure the quality of engraving, etching and back fill
c) Ensure the quality of connector installation
- Compliance with all OSHA hazardous materials and safety procedures
- Engrave filling, parts assembly, and quality control
- Shipping prep including QC and packaging of product with appropriate paperwork
- Shop cleanup - sweeping and cleaning as necessary
- Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
Pay:
$ $18.72 per hour
