Job description


We are looking for an organized venue manager to handle the day to day operations of our beautiful event center located in downtown Kalamazoo in the Kalamazoo City Centre Building.

Event Center formally known as "CityScape Events" being reopened under new managment.


Your responsibilities:


  • Conduct preplanning meeting with guests to understand the groups objectives and needs as well as give expert advice so that City Centre Events is able to meet and exceed every group's expectation.
  • Managing all bookings for events and communicate with the clients to determine event requirements.
  • During events, support operations team to ensure that all arrangements are to the guest's specifications and satisfaction and manage onsite changes.
  • Partner with the Finance Team to generate accurate bills and follow contracted payment guidelines.

  • Scheduling and coordinating the rental of sound equipment, furniture, and other venue equipment.
  • Coordinating with catering services and supervising their requirements and logistics.
  • Promoting the location and events through a variety of marketing channels.
  • Managing the Venue grounds, property, equipment and facilities.
  • Ensuring the venue and facilities are clean and organized.
  • Supervising the operations of events and tending to any incidents or queries.
  • Managing all administrative tasks such as booking schedules, and invoicing.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a venue or event manager.
  • Ability to multi task and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Excellent promotional ability and knowledge of marketing channels and techniques.
  • Great interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours and possibly weekends and holidays
  • Must be knowledgeable with food and beverage trends and banquet and audiovisual setups.
  • Must be revenue driven with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as final bills, discounts, percentages and with added focus on how this affects profit.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience preferred.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Pay:
$60, $80,000.00 per year
