Purpose


Develop software tools for a variety of efforts and topic areas including acoustic data processing and analysis, acoustic environmental and performance modeling, simulation, signal processing, and automation (AI/ML) in the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory.


Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain software tools used for acoustic data processing and analysis, acoustic modeling and simulation, and tactical decision aids;Support researchers, engineers, and analysts who utilize these tools and collaborate to make improvements and add new capabilities
  • Process sonar data through beamforming, signal and information processing strings. Assess data for characteristics which would make it of interest for research and development tasks
  • Work closely with other team members to resolve data quality issues.
  • Identify root causes of data problems and propose remediation plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering/science.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Proficient use of computer systems including Linux and Windows.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in professional or researchoriented software development.
  • Experience with GUI design and development.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software tools for creation, testing, version control, and documenting development of software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: acoustics, signal processing, detection theory, pattern recognition and classification or information processing.
  • Eligibility for immediate access to classified information.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
General Notes


An agency designated by the federal government handles the investigation as to the requirement for eligibility for access to classified information.

Factors considered during this investigation include but are not limited to allegiance to the United States, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, drug involvement, the likelihood of continuation of such conduct, etc.

Salary Range

$88,500-$120,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
