Regional Operations Director

Summary
The Regional Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operations of the permits/contracts within their assigned specialized area. Maintains control of diverse business operations and effectively leads people to perform in current roles. Ensures that agreements made with partnering agencies are fulfilled and assurances made to customers and employees are kept.


Essential Functions

  • Spends extended time in multiple locations providing required new manager training as well as presenting new company policies and procedures to current managers.
  • Works to identify existing and potential problems and suggests improvement plans to CEO.
  • Translates strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organizationwide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
  • Adheres to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforces compliance and takes action when necessary.
  • Ensures consistent delivery of training managers on an initial and ongoing basis.
  • Employs various initiatives to coach employees to optimize their capabilities.
  • Analyzes internal operations and identifies areas of process enhancement.
  • Ensures documentation of employment actions per employment law and company policy.
  • Implements regional safety program in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures regular maintenance and upkeep of company assets.
  • Monitors invoices, money handling procedures, accounting and bank processes to maintain consistency and control company costs.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with key representatives of partnering agencies within assigned region to the extent that changes in local management become seamless with these agencies.
  • Oversees daily operations of their assigned region and the performance of campground management; performs routine site visits to determine extent and service quality levels.
  • Ensures employees provide excellent customer service and handles complaints with professionalism.
  • Manages a variety of permits during management transitions.
  • Provides input into expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.).
  • Investigates staff/customer complaints; identifies and facilitates solutions.
  • Coordinates asset assignment and tracking with CEO.
  • Manages Fee-Offset plans to ensure that all available funds are utilized responsibly and effectively.
  • Oversees water system operations to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Trains management in hazard tree identification, assists in facilitation of hazard tree abatement.

Qualifications

  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of business planning and regulatory issues.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues.
  • Possess strong decision making and problemsolving skills.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in Federal contracts management.
  • Flexibility and ability to effectively function in an ambiguous environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills and experience working with staff on all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Three or more years of experience in campground operations management.
  • Working knowledge of campground infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Ability to travel on a moment's notice and for extended periods of time.
