- Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in similar role. Including production planning, inventory control and artwork management
- Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical industry or demonstration of adequate knowledge of controls and requirements in a pharmaceutical environment
- 2 years previous experience working with MRP systems
- APICS Certification a plus
- Demonstrated intermediate mathematical ability.
- Ability to read, understand and act on MRP reports, stock status reports and material variance reports
- Must possess appropriate communication skills allowing direct interaction with outside suppliers, production operations and management
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Able to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Must have intermediate/advanced computer skills with MS Office, spreadsheets and ERP systems (JDE preferred).

I. Position Overview:
The position is responsible for the cost effective supply management of all production materials which support the production plan. Responsible for the timely and effective implementation of production related material changes. Coordinates the communication for all material changes between customers and all departments to support all customer, regulatory, materials planning and operational needs. Has primary responsibility for the management of purchase orders and supply forecasts for all suppliers connected with the facility. Is the prime contact for the full supplier base. Is a project leader for commercial material change projects and supports New Product Development with material management for products targeted for commercialization. Bears sole responsibility for the management of JDE Item Masters, Bill of Materials (BOM) and product routing systems. Responsible to work directly with customers on all artwork changes and packaging optimization. Creates, routes and tracks change control process.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
General:
• Responsible for the supply of all materials to support production (formulation, filling, packaging operations) at Woodstock facility.
• Identifies issues and resolves problems regarding material issues that support production operations. Takes lead role in problem resolution.
Purchasing:
• Measures and reports on vendor performance.
• Provides vendors with supply forecasts.
• Point of contact for vendors on supply topics.
• Key Operations contact for materials flow.
• Controls KANBAN and VMI min-max order points.
• Issues purchase orders (PO) to vendors.
• Monitors and adjusts open PO's and vendor commitments. Resolves 3-way match issues to ensure timely vendor payment.
Planning:
• Performs material planning for all materials in BOM which include: raw materials, packaging supplies and key production support materials.
• Maintains inventory levels consistent with site policies and goals
• Manages Item Masters, BOMs, routes and other associated supply chain data.
• Creates, monitors and communicates plans for material changes.
• Provides material supply summaries in relation to run-in / run-out.
Artwork:
• Work with customers to define artwork/packaging requirements
• Coordinate and facilitate with Operations, suppliers and customers to define layout, design specifications and feasibility of proposed packaging initial design and changes.
• Partner with packaging engineering to finalize proposed design and compatibility with equipment.
• Translate all artwork requirements to RMS specifications and vendor requirements
• Coordinate implementation with all groups on site.
Projects:
• Supports launch activities for all new products.
• Provides support for all supply chain projects.
• Key site contact for all material change activity. Create, route and track change controls as they relate to any and all changes to artwork, BOM's and process documents.
• Process owner for supply chain change control. Create and route Raw Material Specifications as required.
• Develops and documents recognized supply chain process / procedure.
• Other duties as assigned.
Financial:
Ensure packaging changes are financial responsibility of customer.
• Review excess & obsolete inventory and seek customer reimbursement
Monitor inventory levels for raw materials to ensure site meets inventory targets and adjust purchasing activities to support inventory management objectives.
Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
