Shift Details: 3 FTEs with rotating night and weekend call
Schedule: 0700 until cases are completed for the day. (As cases are completed and operating rooms running decreases, physicians are released incrementally throughout the day, until assigned call physicians can safely manage the surgical schedule.)
Call:
Physician call assignments are scheduled to provide that each physician is assigned to an equal number of calls for the number of individuals in a particular call pool.
(i.e., 7 in the call pool; each physician is assigned 7 calls in a seven-week period) Calls are assigned as equitably as possible, taking into consideration the first call assignments, post-call periods, and scheduled vacation.
