Description
McAlister Design & Automation, a leader in custom robotic automation, and machine design, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team.
Core Responsibilities:
Review of quote, budget, and conceptual design for adherence to customer specifications - notify appropriate departments of deviations.
Electrical machine design and layout using 2D CAD Software.
Prepare Master Bill of Material for the design.
Conduct machine PLC, HMI, robotic, and peripheral device programming.
Create electrical project book for assembly personnel.
Assist with panel build, machine start-up, debug, and commissioning.
Lead kickoff meetings, design reviews, project status meetings, FATs, and be the primary electrical customer contact.
Assist other engineers to meet project deadlines when required.
Work closely with the Mechanical Engineering, Purchasing, and Assembly departments to ensure project quality and advancement.
Correct design issues/errors and re-issue documentation in a timely manner.
Assist the Applications Department on concepts for new RFQs and change orders to existing projects.
Suggest cost and efficiency improvements to management.
Create technical documentation packages for projects.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
A.S. in Electrical Engineering + 4 years' experience (or 8 years' experience)
Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming (other brands a plus)
Servo/VFD
Vision system setup/programming
Willingness to learn and train on new systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional time management skills
Advanced knowledge of electrical codes and company standards
Willingness to travel (up to 25%)
Ability to sit for long periods of time and lift 15 to 50 lbs.
Wauseon Machine is a FANUC Robotics Level IV Authorized System Integrator, Certified Service Provider, and Certified Vision Specialist. We build both small and large robot cells and systems which are designed, built, and programmed entirely in-house. We are authorized to provide warranty and repair of FANUC robots, making us a "one stop shop". Applications include assembly, inspection/testing, machine tending, material handling, material removal, dispensing, and most custom applications.
