    Automation Controls Engineer

    for a

    Direct Hire Opportunity

    with a

    leading automotive manufacturer

    located in

    Spartanburg County, South Carolina This position offers a competitive starting pay range of

    $85,000 to $130,000 per year , as well as a range of benefits including

    The Automation Controls Engineer will support the company in developing and managing controls standards with equipment as they are further investing $1.7 billion towards Battery and Electric Vehicle production.

    Automation Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
    Develop and manage controls standards for equipment installation within the energy module technology department.
    Lead and support projects with controls planning for equipment modifications and installations.
    Provide specialized technical support within the controls functions.
    Collaborate closely with technical planning partners and procurement to select qualified controls suppliers.

    Maintain and develop controls design standards and specifications, such as concept and electrical drawings, parts lists, and cost calculation sheets.

    Ensure compliance with safety and controls specifications and maintain documentation standards.
    Work within cross-functional project teams to improve energy module controls systems.
    Create cost estimates and provide technical expertise for production and planning evaluations.
    Model principles of Standard Work and Problem Solving, adhering to 5S and Safety Standards.

    Automation Controls Engineer Requirements and Qualifications:

    BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred) or a STEM-related field, OR equivalent experience in planning or project management within the automotive industry.

    An MS degree in a STEM field is preferred.
    At least 5 years of experience in industrial controls and automation.
    Extensive project planning experience in automated manufacturing environments, preferably in the automotive sector.
    Demonstrated leadership skills in project management.
    Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
    Deep knowledge of technology operational processes, planning processes, and equipment installation.
    Familiarity with energy module production equipment and battery equipment planning.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
