The CapEx Project & Program Manager supports CCM's Capital Investment Strategy by managing the critical portfolio of projects and processes related to operational investments that drive future growth for the organization.

This role reports to the Director of Capital Planning (PMO) and sits at a unique intersection of manufacturing, engineering, and finance, allowing broad insight into the planning, alignment, justification, and execution of capital projects across the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage CapEx portfolio and investment plan for specific business units, product lines, and sites. This includes working with functional SMEs to move critical projects from ideation to value generation.
  • Act as a process expert and owner regarding the CapEx Program at CCM. Ensure that selected business units and owners understand and follow the Stage-Gate Approach, leading to the right projects at the right time being selected for the business.
  • Work with the Capital Planning Team (PMO), finance, business owners, and executives to build out multiyear Capital Strategy Plan ("Roadmap") with clear linkage to strategic goals and objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for potential, large, investment projects including full business case and financial impact (ex. Building of new facilities, processes, etc.). Focus on frontend business justification, deferring and accelerating projects as needed through the process.
  • Plan, execute and track the progress of projects, both potential and active, in accordance with budget, schedule, and value generation
  • Manage Look-Back and Post-Mortem reviews of high visibility projects to ensure that assumptions, execution, and benefit were in line with published values. Assist in developing action items, root cause analysis, and countermeasures for lessons learned.
  • Communicate actively and effectively with all functions of the organization, incl. reporting on project/schedule/cost and escalation of issues.
  • Support Continuous Improvement mindset and program (COS) in Engineering and CCM, working to improve and mature the CapEx Program across the organization.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:


  • Ability to navigate and bring clarity to ambiguous nature of early phase projects, working quickly to set scope, business value, and budgets while proposals are in the infancy in their maturity.
  • Proven experience in executive communication, reporting, and presentations, especially when related to potential large capital investments in the business.
  • Process driven mindset to hold themselves and others to the standards and procedures in place regarding the Stage-Gate CapEx Program.
  • Ability to lead a crossfunctional team, mainly with influence, through challenging and difficult projects.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and problemsolving tools.
  • Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects are necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen

Requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • Education: bachelor's degree engineering, business administration, or finance
  • Experience in both tactical and strategic business initiatives
  • Experience in connecting operational requirements to larger business priorities and strategies.

Equipment Used:


  • Typical office supplies and computer, printer, fax machine
  • Computer software: SAP, Microsoft products, Warranty Systems.

Working Conditions:


  • Office and occasionally a factory setting
  • Core Hours 8:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday
  • Friday. At times additional hours can be required to meet demands of more than one shift

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 15 % travel, as needed by the business.
