    Description

    Apex Systems is partnering with a local Electrical Contracting firm to hire a Sr. Electrical Estimator. This position is a FULL TIME, DIRECT HIRE that requires candidates to be 100% onsite in Charlotte, NC.

    *** WE CANNOT WORK CORP TO CORP FOR THIS POSITION. CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO SIT ON THE CLIENT'S W2 ***

    Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000

    Full Time, Direct Hire

    100% Onsite in Charlotte, NC.

    • Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Job Description:

    The Senior Estimator reports to the Estimating Manager or above and is responsible for managing and developing estimating activities for the company. The Senior Estimator may be responsible for obtaining, estimating, planning, coordinating and supporting work activities related to company projects. The Senior Estimator may also participate in marketing efforts to obtain new clients and projects for the organization. The Senior Estimator shall maintain appropriate relationships with customers, clients, and vendors.

    Responsibilities & Authority:

    Safety:

    • Plans, staffs, organizes, directs and controls activities relating to estimating activities performed by personnel in a safe and efficient manner.

    Customer Satisfaction:

    • Coordinates with client, architect, engineering, and project team to develop design build proposals.
    • Maintains relationships with others in the organization to provide for a positive work climate.

    Sales Growth, Revenue Growth, Profitability:

    • Ensures that proper and accurate information is available and being utilized for company estimates.
    • Provides input to develop methods and procedures to ensure consistency in company estimating efforts.

    Asset Management:

    • Manages and perform the overall activities relating to estimates performed including coordinating engineering efforts, estimating costs, acquiring material quotes, and obtaining permit cost.
    • Attends pre-bid meetings, job planning meetings, job progress meetings and provide estimates for projects as required.
    • Reviews bid documents.
    • Generates Bill of Materials and communicate to vendors and subcontractors.
    • Generates proposals and communicate with customers and clients.
    • Capable of managing, leading and mentoring (5-7) direct and indirect subordinates.

    Timely and Accurate Reporting:

    • Routinely meets with appropriate parties to verify that estimates are being developed in an accurate manner and reflect actual costs.
    • Develops means to track and ensure that estimate system information is accurate and current.
    • Coordinates with project management team hand off meetings, to ensure that proper and accurate documentation is being provided in this turn over process and communicate this information in a timely manner.
    • Performs take off and enter take off in company specific estimating software.

    • Actively engages in the recruitment and development of high-quality employees to ensure a competent and adequate workforce.
    • Actively engages and/or assist in the marketing efforts as deemed necessary to further the goals of the company.
