- Supporting recruitment, screening for eligibility, consenting community members.

- Assist with day to day operations of CDC and NIH funded projects that involve working with individuals with substance use, criminal legal involvement, and infectious diseases.
- Coordinate multiple related projects to ensure optimal recruitment, enrollment and fidelity to the complex requirements of study participation and follow-up counseling.
- Assist with the development of study protocols, survey instruments, and maintenance of databases.
- Support evening and weekend events for when research is requested on site.
- Prepares for or participate in quality assurance audits conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups.
- Participates in study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports.
- Performs other related work as needed.
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Previous research experience.
- Experience working with individuals who identify as gender or sexual minorities.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.

About the Department
This role will be housed in southern Illinois, specifically Murphysboro and Marion, IL to support projects off campus in rural sites, but will be embedded as part of the research programming for The Chicago Center of HIV Elimination (CCHE).
The CCHE collaborates with multiple partners across the state, including community-based organizations, local health departments and jails to implement research on HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and COVID-19, particularly in vulnerable populations including people who use drugs in rural areas and those with criminal legal experience.
Annual travel to Chicago may be required for initial onboarding and project retreats.Job Summary
The Research Coordinator will assist with day-to-day operations of funded projects that involve working with individuals with substance use engaging in harm reduction services.
The candidate will be expected to actively pursue required knowledge and skills for professional development; and stay informed about the NIH and CDC regulations and requirements.
The candidate will report to the Director of Research.Funded projects include substance use, viral hepatitis and HIV prevention and care, HIV care, PrEP care, network science, and harm reduction.
This position is grant funded.Responsibilities
