RN Infection Prevention Specialist
This position is responsible for ensuring that Infection Control policies and procedures are consistently implemented across all LindenGrove campuses.

Performs surveillance, monitors outbreaks and collaborates with the Directors of Nursing to trend and report infection data and implementing corrective action.

Assists with developing staff education in infection control. Collaborates with the Regional Director of Clinical Quality for on-going review, revision and development of I.C. policies and procedures.


Education

  • Has successfully completed an accredited registered nursing program; BSN preferred. Current Wisconsin license. Currently is in good standing with the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.

Experience

  • Minimum of at least 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a longterm care setting, or acceptable comparable experience, preferably with one year supervisory or educational experience.
  • APIC certification or willing to get certification within 6 months.
  • Infection Prevention certification a plus.

Other Requirements**- Understands and complies with geriatric and restorative nursing principles and knowledge of Wisconsin State and CMS Federal regulations/guidelines affecting long term care.

  • Work wells and communicates effectively with members of an Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Honest, dependable, and exhibits a sincere manner; strong Customer Services skills.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive nursing knowledge and accepted Standards of Practice.
  • Understands and carries out management principles.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of finance resources and expenditures (Staffing numbers, products used, etc.).
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, nursing process, judgment, and decision making abilities.
Current CPR certification.
