Operations Associate
WHO WE ARE
Central Queens Academy (CQA) is an award-winning, high-performing, free, public charter school which opened in 2012. Currently we serve approximately 400 middle school scholars in grades 5-8 and 400 elementary school scholars in grades K-3.
We will grow our elementary school and add one new grade each year until 2024 when we will serve all grades K-8.
CQA was founded to serve the families in District 24, specifically those who live in and around the multiethnic, multicultural, and multilingual communities of Elmhurst, Corona and Woodside.
Our scholars and their families hail from over 30 different nations and speak over 20 different languages at home. More than 80% of our scholars would be the first in their families to attend college.OUR MISSION
The mission of Central Queens Academy Charter School is to prepare students for success in education, the workforce and the community through a school that integrates literacy, standards-based academics and culturally responsive supportive services.
WHAT WE ASK OF OUR STAFF

- Help organize critical school events, parent coordination, and special projects.

- Track critical student information, data & reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure an efficient and organized office environment and upkeep with commonlyused forms.
- Manage reception in the office and serve as a gatekeeper for all students, families, staff, and visitors.
- Fulfill staff supply requests, manage ongoing supply orders, and upkeep the school inventory database.
- Distribute internal and external written notices and communications (translate where necessary) to the school community, including families and staff.
- Ensure accurate management and upkeep of the student information system (SIS) and other record systems.
- Manage and reconcile daily student attendance and tardiness records in the SIS.
- Coordinates eligibility and compliance with Department of Education student transportation.
- Assist the operations team and instructional team (as needed) with the compilation of data for reports.
- Support
- Conduct outreach to ensure high attendance amongst families at all events.
- Perform other special projects as assigned by Operations Manager, Director of Operations, or other school leader.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Spanish language and written skills required.
- Exhibits a high level of organizational ability and a knack for systems management.
- Skillful in delivering high quality internal and external customer service.
- Minimum twothree years of experience in a school setting or youthserving organization required.
- Experience working in a New York City Charter School highly preferred.
COMPENSATION
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience ($58,000$65,000/yr)
