- Communicates with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient progress and recommends changes in therapy modalities according to established department guidelines.
- Demonstrates the ability to proficiently obtain and analyze blood gas specimens accurately according to established department guidelines on an age specific basis.
- Demonstrates the ability to proficiently perform skin testing accurately, assess results and reported on a timely basis according to the specialty area on an age specific basis.
- Properly maintains equipment with complete accurate documentation as required in all areas of respiratory care according to established department guidelines.
- Monitors staffing, work and equipment room areas on a regular basis.
- Provides helpful, accurate patients' family education on a timely and age specific basis according to the specialty area.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Associate's Degree required.
- Required to be a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Must be certified by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
- Must have current Massachusetts State License.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS) and NRP certification are required.
- Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP).
- One year experience preferred
- Meditech and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
