POSITION OVERVIEW


We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide support across a range of HR functions, such as benefits enrollment, leave management, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

The HR Generalist will act as a key contact for employees, fostering a positive work environment and upholding legal requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address inquiries related to employment from candidates, employees, and managers, and escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Manage administrative duties concerning benefits, including overseeing open enrollment
  • Coordinate various types of leaves, handle ADA accommodations, and Workers Compensation
  • Support the recruitment process by interviewing and hiring suitable candidates
  • Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department for payroll tasks
  • Implement HR aspects of new employee orientation and other training programs
  • Assist the HR Director in employee relations matters, including investigations and terminations
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage unemployment claims
  • Organize data in the HR Information System (HRIS), maintain employee records, and aid in compliance-related activities
  • Contribute to employee satisfaction, retention, well-being initiatives, and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion efforts
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and best practices, reviewing policies for alignment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years of HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, organizational behavior, HR) is preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit health and human services is a plus
  • SHRM-CP certification is advantageous

  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Uphold integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with HRIS and talent management systems, or quick adaptability to learn
