PIK is currently seeking a Post-doctoral position or Research Analyst (m/f/d) for Research Department III - Transformation Pathways in Marlton.

This position, with the number PostDoc or Research Analyst, will focus on energy systems modeling for transport decarbonization pathways and is expected to start in August 2024.

The successful candidate will be responsible for refining the transport transition model in the context of global energy decarbonization.

This includes exploring how transport systems can align with national and international climate neutrality goals, the role of the transport sector in integrated energy systems, and identifying suitable policy approaches for the transition.

This position also involves collaborative programming in an international team.

As a valuable member of our team, you will be tasked with further developing our detailed transport model (EDGE-Transport).

This model represents national and international passenger and freight transport and is coupled with the REMIND model, a leading global integrated energy-economy climate model.


We encourage candidates at the postdoc level to apply, but those with a Master's or equivalent degree in a relevant field may also be considered.

The initial contract is for two years, with the possibility of extensions depending on external funding.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the German public tariff scheme (TV-L Brandenburg), salary group E 13, for a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

Part-time work is also possible.
