    PsiQuantum is on a mission to build the world's first utility-scale, 1 million-plus qubit quantum computer, powered by breakthroughs in silicon photonics and quantum architecture. We were founded in 2015 by the world's foremost experts in photonic quantum computing and have assembled a world class team dedicated to bringing the world-changing benefits of quantum computing into reality.

    Quantum computing is anticipated to unlock the solutions to otherwise impossible computational tasks, with impact across science, technology, and business. By harnessing the laws of quantum physics, quantum computers are expected to dramatically outperform even the most powerful existing (or future) supercomputers and offer the potential to enable extraordinary advances across a broad range of applications including climate, energy, healthcare, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials design, and more, as well as deliver entirely new industries.

    PsiQuantum is uniquely positioned to deliver on the promise of quantum computing. We have already demonstrated that it's possible to manufacture core quantum components using the standard and scalable manufacturing processes of a world-leading semiconductor fab.

    Our team is working across the full stack of quantum computing, from hardware design, manufacturing, and packaging through to quantum architecture and quantum algorithms. We're a highly integrated, collaborative group and love tackling problems that span across interfaces.

    Job Summary:

    PsiQuantum's application team is uniquely focused on building a world-class software environment for quantum algorithm developers. These tools allow quantum app developers to utilize, optimize and visualize large-scale quantum algorithms. The primary role of this Full Stack Engineering role is to build out supporting architecture, infrastructure and applications to support the work of the quantum application team.

    This work will involve working closely with the quantum application software team to help plan, build and deliver supporting applications and ensure security, usability and scalability.

    The systems themselves range from user-facing web applications, HTTP and gPRC API's to backend data pipelines and downstream integrations as well as building out and supporting the underlying infrastructure.

    It's an exciting role with a lot of variety and opportunities to shape our internal and external platforms.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing new features and infrastructure to meet evolving business and project needs.
    • Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of applications, while maintaining code quality and design standards.
    • Be involved in all stages of software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
    • Provide feedback on creating new solutions and maintaining existing systems.
    • Develop and deploy infrastructure using Terraform through CI scripting within a containerized environment
    • Work cross functionally with members of manufacturing, engineering, and design teams.
    • Keep documentation and operational guidelines up-to-date.
    • Use agile development methods, following best practices and continuous learning.
    • Work collaboratively across different time zones, using Slack and other communication tools for effective coordination (document sharing, merge requests, etc).

    Experience/Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering.
    • At least 2-3 years building and maintaining customer facing solutions (API's, UI's, Infrastructure, etc.).
    • Practical experience in developer environments, IDEs, and frameworks (GitHub, Jira, Jetbrains, VSCode, etc.).
    • Fluent in Python, Docker, Bash and Terraform.
    • Experience using traditional RDMS (Postgres, MySQL, etc.).
    • Confident using Cloud Services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.), configuring IAM and maintaining these resources.
    • Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
    • Experience in unit/integration testing.
    • Interest in learning new tools, languages, frameworks.
    • Knowledge of the following preferred, but not required
      • Kubernetes application development practices and day-to-day operation
      • Writing and maintaining gRPC services in a Python environment
      • Experience working within HPC environments

    The range below reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all US locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

    For a fully qualified candidate, the expected pay range is:

    Pay Range $154,000—$176,000 USD
