Summary:


The Nutrition Access Center (NAC) provides fresh, healthy supplemental food to residents of Grand Street Guild who face food insecurity.

Our goal is to provide healthy nutritious meals to anyone who is in need with compassion and dignity. This position will support the program operations and assist in the delivery of food.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with all aspects of weekly food deliveries including lifting, moving, cleaning and organizing of food, equipment, furniture, etc. in the hub and/or pantry.
  • Receive, unpack, and restock cases of food, produce, frozen and refrigerator food items.
  • As requested, conduct, and maintain product inventory and report information to supervisor.
- . Maintain food safety protocols for food storage, inventory, equipment and premises.
- . Work closely with HSS staff and building management personnel to ensure smooth program operations.

  • Keep facilities and equipment clean and organized.
  • Help with the setup and closedown of NAC as requested.
  • Work closely with volunteers, interns, and other personnel as assigned.
  • Work closely with the Case Management staff, other CCCS programs/staff and affiliate agencies.
  • Assist Supervisor, department staff and/or other agency personnel as needed to support operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary:
$21.00 per hour - $22.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt hour position based on a maximum 29 hours work week.


Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/Equivalence.
  • Some familiarity with working in a small warehouse environment.
  • Some knowledge of operating warehouse equipment (pallet jack, hand truck)
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or containers that weigh over 5 0 lbs.
  • Must have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse population of the public and work in various communities.
  • Must maintain excellent relationships with internal personnel and external partners.
  • Must be a team player and be supportive of program and community development projects.
  • May be required to work some holidays, evening and/or weekend hours.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
***This is a part-time position.

Expected days and hours of work are Monday: 12pm-3pm, Tuesday: 6am-2pm, Wednesday: 12pm-7pm, Friday: 12pm-2pm

Additional hours may be required to meet program deadlines, or client needs.


Working conditions and physical demands _required:_**The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Moving and lifting boxes, pallets, and/or cases of food products 50% of time, sometimes outside in cold weather.
  • Work with clients who require consistent and comprehensive support, some under potentially stressful conditions.
