Job Summary:
Duties:
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies
- Review and interpret medical documentation to assign appropriate codes using ICD10 and CPT coding systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records, including billing information and insurance coverage
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance claims
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any billing or coding issues
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding systems
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding systems (ICD10, CPT), and medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical office software systems (e.g., EHR, practice management software)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Note:
All positions must be paid, including internship positions.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
