Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate library media resources and equipment.
- Assist with the supervision of students in the Library Media Center and computer labs.
- Operate automated circulation system (circulation and processing of materials).
- Assist individuals or small groups of students/staff in utilization of library media resources.
- Operate and maintain instructional/technology equipment.
- Perform clerical duties as directed by the Library Media Specialist such as; word processing, filing, photocopying,
- Assist in maintaining Library Media Center resource inventory.
- Follow district, building, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Treat all students, staff and parents and others encountered on the job with respect, compassion and patience.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students and staff.
- Function without direct supervision.
- Mend/repair materials.
- Shelve materials.
- Process materials/equipment.
- Perform as a team member.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May be asked to participate in team processes for continuous improvement.
- Perform such other appropriate duties as may be determined by the professional staff within parameters of the master
Qualifications
- An associate (or higher) degree, completion of at least two years of post secondary study at an institution of higher education (at least 48 credits,
instruction and attainment of a rigorous standard of quality through a formal assessment. (WorkKeysACT, Parapro-Assessments ETS, ParaEducator
Master Teacher).
- Demonstrated accurate keyboarding skills with 45 wpm typing/keyboarding.
- Basic technology literacy and/or willingness to expand skills.
- Experience working with children preferably in a structured setting.
- Ability to interact tactfully, effectively, positively, and courteously with parents, students, staff, and others encountered on the job.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to perform basic language, writing, and computational skills.
- Ability to staff position for required FTE hours.
- In lieu of the above qualifications, the district may consider appropriate alternatives to the above qualifications.
