PART TIME CHILDCARE WORKER (Nursery-5th Grade)

Hours:

Sundays 7:30 am - 12:30 noon (or last child leaves/room clean).

Tuesdays 6:30 pm - 8:15 pm when needed.

Special Events such as VBS, etc.


Requirements:

• Must profess faith in Jesus Christ
• Minimum of one year experience working with children and/or babies
• Willingness to use a guided ageappropriate curriculum to lovingly train children in the Scriptures and to model Christian living before children and fellow workers.
• Must be able to model Christian living before children and fellow children's ministry workers.
• Background check required.
• Able to work every Sunday with the exception of approved time off.
• Loving attitude toward all children
• Team player, able to work with parents and volunteers as well as the church leadership.
• Over 18 years of age

Responsibilities:

• Keep the work areas clean, neat, and tidy.
• Follow check in and check out process and procedures.
• Assist with monitoring supplies, keep list of needs & reporting to Christian Education Director
• Teach bible lessons and activities provided each Sunday; must prepare for lesson prior to arrival.
• Follow safety guidelines regarding cleanliness, spread of infection and prevention of accidents.
• Serve as a greeter or floater as needed.
• Provide guidance for volunteers.
• Understand as a staff member you will be responsible for providing leadership in area and representing the church well at all times.
• Any other tasks as needed.

Specific Skills:

• Be timely and work autonomously.
• Lead activities that will encourage children in the learning process.
• Assist with child checkin and checkout procedures and comply with church and ministry security procedures.
• Greet and encourage parents/guardians during transition time.
• Assist with the preparation of craft/activity materials.
• Participate in games and other engaging activities with the children.
• Model Christ before the children
• Be able to present the Gospel message.
• Help to ensure that the children are adhering to children's ministry rules.
• Lovingly discipline children as needed.
• Help to ensure that the classroom and supply cabinet are well maintained.
• Assist with restroom breaks and diapering as needed.
• Assist with snack time as needed.

Additional Requirements:


Must:
- have reliable and dependable transportation.
- have means of communication -phone or contact number.
- pass drug screen and background check.
- pass interview process.
- have references.

• Must plan to work special events that take place for the year on Sundays (i.e. Crawfish Boil (1st Sunday in May of each year), Family & Friends (last Sunday in October of each year) and Movie Day (Feb & Oct).

CPR certification preferred but not required.
