Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation.

It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program.

The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that offers educational, vocational, and other social support programs.

Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Early Childhood Education Aide - Monday - Friday - 9a - 1p - part-time.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Inspects children for signs of illness or injury upon arrival
  • Inspects outdoor and indoor play areas prior to play
  • Follows the hand washing procedures accordingly
  • Follows the "When to Wash Hands" policies as posted in the classroom
  • Follows the diaper changing / potty procedures for children accordingly and as needed
  • Uses the "Germ Box" effectively
  • Uses bleach solutions to clean toys and surfaces as required
  • Notifies parents and director when children are sick or get hurt
  • Files incident or accident reports accordingly and as needed
  • Inspects fire exits and extinguishers regularly
  • Feeds children according to their individual needs, family input, and CACFP guidelines
  • Puts infants to sleep according to their individual schedules and takes care of infants upon awakening; every effort to prevent SIDS is made.

  • Helps develop language by responding to sounds infants make or words children say; sings, talks throughout the day and interacts verbally during routines such as diaper changing, hand washing, etc.
  • Does not speak about the child in front of him/ her
