What You'll Do

Act as "our customer's best service provider" at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice.
Under mínimal supervision, this position is responsible for leading the installation, programming, system startup/checkout, certification, and related customer training on assigned Security, Intrusion and Video projects which range in size but are primarily smaller but more complex.
Also delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with mínimal guidance.
Respond to routine and some nonroutine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and afterhours service calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

What You'll Need

Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Advanced technical skills and experience related to electronic security and video systems.
Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
Proficient construction skills and understanding of system plans.
Excellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
To be a selfstarter and work well with mínimal supervision.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
Previous construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background.
Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, datacable installation and/or building automation.
