    District Executive Chef

    Qualifications
    Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred or equivalent professional experience

    K-12 culinary experience is preferred

    Knowledge of state and federal food standard guidelines that apply to the K-12 market

    Seven years of progressive culinary management experience

    Five years in menu development

    Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food

    Knowledge of budgets, labor costs, and inventory controls

    Computer skills:
    proficient in Microsoft Office

    Ability to lift, bend and carry up to 40 lbs.

    ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus

    Director of Child Nutrition

    Supervises
    Child Nutrition Cafeteria Staff

    Job Goal


    Working as the District Executive Chef you are the department head for all culinary operations of a K-12 school district account.

    You will ensure efficient, safe, and sanitary food production, preparation, and presentation. You are responsible for handling, preparation, and storage of perishable products.

    Duties also include menu development, inventory, purchasing, labor and food cost controls, maintaining sanitation standards, and personnel management including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, and development.

    Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

    Essential Functions
    Plans nutritionally sound menus that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

    Develops and implements a menu system to maximize the use of USDA commodity foods.

    Participates in employee meetings and training programs.

    Conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs.

    Maintains food costs while ensuring quality standards.

    Maintains an active role in managing team developments.

    Manages purchasing and inventory controls.

    Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

    Plans and conducts marketing programs following K12 guidelines.

    Promotes and encourages student participation through classroom or cafeteria training demonstrations, tastings, and display cooking.

    Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of personnel.
