Tasks and Process

As a materials tester, you will examine predetermined metallic or non-metallic materials for internal and external defects. You will monitor the consistent quality of our products, making an important contribution to the satisfaction of our customers and the success of our company. In the event of damage, you will determine possible causes of material failure. Using "destructive" and "non-destructive" testing methods, you will determine material properties such as hardness, strength, deformability, or toughness. You will learn the basic skills of metal technology, which will enable you to identify and analyze the causes of errors. You will refine and apply your knowledge in the workplace, as being a specialist offers the best opportunities for your future.

Requirements and Duration of Training

You will need a good secondary school leaving certificate for this apprenticeship. The standard training period is 3.5 years.
